To enhance awareness of the importance of materials science and engineering and to recognize outstanding scholarship, ASM International and the ASM Heat Treating Society sponsor annual paper contests that provide recognition and cash prizes to the winners. The ASM Graduate Student Paper Contest is open to all ASM student members and Material Advantage members pursuing an education in materials science and engineering.
