Summer camp typically brings to mind fun activities such as hiking and swimming, boating and horseback riding, but most scientists and engineers agree that solving a challenging problem is really the most fun you can have. To test whether bright high school students could be persuaded to agree with this premise, the ASM Materials Education Foundation initiated the first Materials Camp in 2000.
