Time-stamp wheel cast of zinc costs less than machined.(FORMING/PROCESSING)

A time stamp wheel for Lathem Time Corp. is die cast of zinc by Dynacast, Spartanburg, S.C. The print wheels were originally screw machined from brass stock, hand engraved, and then assembled to a stamped ratchet. Dynacast provided Lathem with a substantial cost savings and shorter lead time by converting the process to multi-slide zinc die casting.
