In the fictional universe of Star Trek, a tricorder is a handheld device used for quickly scanning an object or area. "Our analyzer is like an elemental kind of tricorder," says ASM member Don Sackett, president of Innov-X Systems, Inc., a four-year-old company based in Woburn, Mass.
