A non-proprietary "Esperanto" for materials information--Version 3.1 of the MatML Schema--has been released. This new version, together with other supporting information, is now available on the website www.matml.org, hosted by ASM International. MatML is a non-proprietary extensible markup language for materials information, initially sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
