Fiber reinforcement enables bendable concrete.(POLYMERS/CERAMICS)

A new type of fiber-reinforced bendable concrete has been developed at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The new concrete looks like regular concrete, but is said to be 500 times more resistant to cracking and 40% lighter in weight. Tiny fibers that comprise about 2% of the mixture's volume partially account for its performance.
