Zinc/magnesium coating protects better than zinc alone.(SURFACE ENGINEERING)

A zinc/magnesium coating that protects sheet steel with only half the coating thickness required for zinc alone has reportedly been developed at the Thyssen Krupp Dortmund Surface Engineering Center, Germany. Called ZE-Mg, it makes the metal more resistant to corrosion with a thickness only half as thick as the pure zinc layer commonly applied now to produce the same amount of corrosion protection.
