A technology in which electromagnetic waves detect external corrosion on pipelines and other structures has reportedly been developed by Profile Technologies Inc., Manhassat, N.Y. Its next generation Electromagnetic Wave (EMW) system is said to have successfully located corrosion on buried pipe at its testing facility in Ferndale, Washington.
