Epoxy adhesive to replace welding in capless fuel tank.(WELDING/JOINING)

A one-part adhesive that is said to provide tighter, more durable seals than welding, is to bond the funnel to the fuel pipe in a capless direct-fill system on some 2009 model cars, reports Devcon, Danvers, Mass. The adhesive is Devcon SC 2002, an epoxy adhesive with excellent resistance to cutting oil, motor oil, unleaded gasoline, and potassium hydroxide solutions (to 20%).
