Forged steel steering knuckles have higher fatigue properties than either cast aluminum or cast iron knuckles, according to a study conducted at the University of Toledo, Ohio. The study was sponsored by the Bar Applications Group of the American Iron and Steel Institute, Southfield, Mich., and the Forging Industry Educational and Research Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio.
