Although stainless steel 316L remains the workhorse material for stent tubing, cobalt-chromium and Nitinol have growth rates of over 100% for this application, reports Minitubes, France. The company offers alloy 35N LT as an alternative to MP35N. Although both of these alloys have roughly the same composition (35Co-35Ni-20Cr-10Mo), MP35N contains 1% titanium, while the 35N LT (low titanium) composition contains only 0.01% titanium.
