The A-Train is an integrated train car body system that produces high-quality, multi-functional interiors and exteriors based on aluminum double-skin technology and modular concepts. Built by Hitachi, the double-skin body is constructed entirely of large, hollow aluminum extrusions that take advantage of the flexibility of cross-sectional profiles to allow for creative formation of stylish exteriors.
The double skin also ensures high structural stiffness and a quiet interior for passengers. Box-section aluminum provides outstanding energy-absorbing characteristics.
