A contract for the supply of induction preheat equipment essential for the successful coating of three layers onto large-diameter steel pipe has been awarded by Arabian Pipecoaters, Saudi Arabia, to Radyne, England. The steel pipes have diameters up to seven feet. Previously, pipe sizes were limited to six feet in diameter, and equipment was limited by both speed and power restrictions.
Radyne has developed a preheat solution that involves three high-performance induction coils plus inverters, and would form part of the most advanced three-layer pipe coating facility in the world. ...
