Hydrogen made by reforming from waste iron mill scale.(PROCESS TECHNOLOGY)

A process in which mill-scale iron oxide is heated in steam to generate hydrogen for automotive fuel cells has reportedly been developed at the University of Toledo, Ohio. Called metal-steam reforming (MSR), the mill scale oxide is first converted into elemental iron. This is packed into cartridges and loaded on the vehicle.
