Cold spraying, the youngest offspring in the series of thermal spray processes, has now established itself as a viable application (Fig. 1). Its rapid success in the European market is primarily due to the launching of the Kinetiks 3000 cold-spray system (Fig. 2) in 2001 by CGT (Cold Gas Technology GmbH) in Ampfing in Upper Bavaria.
