Fig. 1 -- This is a photomicrograph of an AL6XN (stainless steel) rolled plate cross section. The austenite grains can be seen, along with the brown and blue mechanical deformation bands caused by rolling. Image was made with a 10X objective. If printed to 4x5 inches, it would be a 100X magnification.
