In February, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), Washington, D.C., elected 64 new members and 9 foreign associates, bringing total U.S. membership to 2217 and the number of foreign associates to 188. Among the new NAE members are: * Karl A. Gschneidner Jr., FASM, Anson Marston Distinguished Professor, Department of Materials Science & Engineering, Iowa State University, Ames.
