News on the automotive front has been discouraging lately from the U.S. point of view. Ford and General Motors have lost millions, and Chrysler is in such bad shape that DaimlerChrysler is considering selling it. However, the domestic automakers are still investing in technology, and foreign auto manufacturers are breathing new life into the industry, especially in the South.
