Study shows that drug-eluting stents reduce deaths by 32%.(Brief article)

A recent study by Wake Forest University School of Medicine shows that drug-eluting stents reduced the risk of heart attack by 23% compared with 3.7% for bare metal stents. They also reduced deaths by 32%, versus 4.7% for bare metal stents, says Boston Scientific, Natick, Mass. The study involved 2359 people over a nine-month period.
