The development of terahertz (T-rays) screening devices has begun to advance quickly, primarily due to the revolutionary development of terahertz quantum cascade lasers, say researchers at Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque, N.M. They are developing the next generation of T-ray screening devices that will identify hazardous and toxic materials even if concealed by clothing and packaging materials.
