An adhesive bandage that can seal a pipeline has been developed by Stopaq Europe B.V., Stadskanaal, Netherlands. The main constituent of Stopaq Wrapping Band is Oppanol, a polyisobutene (PIB) product from BASF Performance Chemicals, a business unit of BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany. The bandage protects pipelines from corrosion and hairline cracks.
