Dr. John J. Stephens Jr., FASM, died Mar. 22, 2007, at the Stanford University Medical Center, Palo Alto, Calif., after battling a long illness. He was 51. Dr. Stephens was a principal member of the technical staff in the Materials Science & Engineering Center at Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque, N.M.
