Tandem arc welding processes designed to improve productivity for future Navy ship building programs are under development at the Navy Joining Center, Edison Welding Institute, Columbus, Ohio. Tandem gas metal arc welding (T-GMAW) is a variation of GMAW in which two electrodes are fed through a single welding torch.
