Continuous casting of copper rod and continuous extrusion of profiles has been developed by Rautomead Ltd., Dundee, Scotland. Grade A copper cathode feedstock is melted and continuously cast in a Rautomead RS upwards-vertical copper casting machine to produce rods of diameters from 8 to 20 mm.
