ThyssenKrupp to build steel mill in Alabama.(GLOBAL ECONOMY)(Brief article)

The Supervisory Board of ThyssenKrupp AG has approved the $3.1 billion investment in a steel mill to be operated jointly by the Steel and Stainless segments in Mount Vernon, Alabama. The plant is scheduled to start operation in 2010. The joint plant will employ 2700 people and generate at least 38,000 indirect jobs in the region over the next 20 years.
