Local companies purchase University Center Mall
Alaska Business Monthly, Feb, 2002
A partnership of two local companies recently purchased the University Center Mall on the Old Seward Highway. Furniture Enterprises Alaska Inc. and JL Properties were the successful bidders and developers said the long-term plan is to divide the property among the partners.
"Furniture Enterprises Alaska Inc. will take over the original mall area and JL will take over the expansion of the south end of the building," said Jon Rubini, chairman of JL Properties. "We intend on renovating that area into office space and may add additional square footage as the market demands."
