These early organs used vacuum tube oscillators, which were replaced in 1959 by transistor oscillators. In 1971, Allen introduced the now famous Digital Computer Organ. With this system, the sounds of organ pipes are recorded and analyzed, and digital representations of the sounds are then stored in the organ's computer memory for later recall.
