Jones named to Gospel Hall of Fame.(PEOPLE)

BOB JONES SR., father of Samick Music Corp. President Bob Jones Jr., and a longtime music retailer, has been inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame. The award is in recognition of Jones' 70 years of singing in various Gospel groups. The SGMA Hall of Fame building and museum is located on the grounds of Dollywood, near Knoxville, Tennessee.

The induction ceremony is planned for October 12, 2006, at Dollywood. "I am extremely pleased and proud that the SGMA has chosen to recognize my Dad's contributions to and involvement in Southern Gospel Music," said Bob Jones Jr. "As a member of the quartet for 28 years, I know the effort and dedication it takes to make this kind of ministry effective."
