In mid-November, UCSD will receive the next unit, a set of two treadways and the separator beams and hardware needed to assemble the full bridge. UCSD will conduct static proof tests on each treadway. In the early tests, an interesting benefit found with the carbon fiber composite unit is that it is quiet under load and just sounds safer than the aluminum transportable bridge that creaks, reducing confidence.
