It is estimated that the introduction of composite "kill & choke" lines in riser assemblies will open the door to other composites applications in oil drilling and production, such as: pressure tanks, riser tensioners, heave compensators, all where weights could be drastically reduced.

Possible applica-tions can be considered on the casings and on the drill strings. The specifications of the "kill & choke" line have been jointly developed by IFP and Composites Aquitaine, but details were not made available to us. Time schedule: Qualification - 2/99 ...
