Avtec Filler Aids Epoxy in Greatly Improved FST.

Avtec Industries, Inc. in Hudson, Massachusetts has worked with an unnamed major epoxy resin systems formulator to research and develop new materials that are very resistant to flame, smoke and toxicity, or FST. The new products that are very close to market introduction by a customer are "self-extinguishing, will not support combustion, and generate virtually no smoke." The FR (flame retardant) grade of laminating epoxy is moderately fast curing and designed for coating as well.
