CONOCO EXPECTS RECORD FULL-YEAR EARNINGS, BIG GAINS FROM CARBON FIBERS.

Executives of Conoco (NYSE:COCA) (NYSE:COCB) told security analysts on 5 December that the Houston-based energy company will earn between 79 and 84 cents per share in the fourth quarter, up 60 percent over last year, in line with earlier projections. Conoco's Chairman, President and CEO Archie W.
Dunham said he was "extremely satisfied" with the company's performance this year -- record earnings and cash, an industry leading 22-percent return on capital through the third quarter, one of the better production growth outlooks in the industry and outstanding exploration results. "We had major discoveries in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Vietnam and the North Sea and key exploration acreage awards in the Caspian Sea, Malaysia, Vietnam and Norway," he said....
