HEXCEL EXTENDS ITS AIRBUS SUPPLY CONTRACTS.

Hexcel Composites has further strengthened its position as the prime supplier of structural carbon fiber prepreg to Airbus, following the extension of its existing contracts with Airbus through to the end of 2004. The success of Airbus over recent years has seen build rates rise from less than 30 aircraft a year in the late 1980's to last year's delivery of 311.

With the increased penetration of composite materials on each new Airbus model, Hexcel has seen the value of sales to Airbus rise to 13% of its worldwide revenues or over $130 million in 2000.
