Some predict that Airbus will catch Boeing in orders and then in deliveries, moving market share from Boeing 60% and Airbus 40% to 50/50% and then perhaps even to 40/60% in favor of Airbus, by 2008-2010. The outcome of A380 and Sonic Cruiser may be large factors in this suggested trend.

Airbus executives have pledged a ramp up in production to overtake Boeing in the $50 billion annual market, in as little as three years. Airbus unveiled a total of 155 new orders during the air show, to only 3 so far by Boeing.
