The Paris Airshow took place 16-24 June, and was - as always - permeated with new materials applications and composites. From Airbus, to space, military, new all-composite lightplanes, myriad subcontractors, several composite material suppliers and even composite machine-building companies, all were on hand, providing a strong show of force from the composites community.
Considerable attention this year was devoted to the newly formed EADS (European Aerospace and Defense Systems Company), the privatized and evolving Airbus organization, sometimes referred to as AIC (Airbus Integrated Company) or the SCE (Single Corporate Entity).
