CYTEC ACHIEVES THIRD QUARTER EPS OF $0.51.

Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) of West Paterson, N.J. announced that net earnings, before the extraordinary gain, in the third quarter of 2001 were $21.3 million or $0.51 per diluted share on sales of $342 million. This compares to net earnings in the third quarter of 2000 of $28 million or $0.65 per diluted share on sales of $376 million.
