LOCKHEED MAY PICK BOEING ON JOINT STRIKE FIGHTER CONTRACT.

Lockheed Martin Corp. said it would consider sharing the JSF contract with Boeing. "Notwithstanding the decisive conclusion by the government regarding the Lockheed Martin team offering, we will be speaking with our competitor, Boeing, about capabilities from their proposal they could possibly bring to the program to enhance the value of the JSF team," Dain Hancock, president of Lockheed's Fort Worth, Texas-based aeronautics unit, said in a statement.

The JSF, or F-35, is a family of stealthy jets designed to be highly modular, thus more "affordable" than past military programs.
