Honeywell's Spectra Material is Selected by C&D Aerospace for New Fortified Doors for Aircraft Cockpits.

Honeywell (NYSE:HON) says that its Spectra(R) composite material has been selected by C&D Aerospace as the primary ballistic protection material for its new strengthened cockpit doors. "Spectra is the ideal material for ballistic protection in aircraft components because its strength-to-weight ratio is much greater than other substances such as fiberglass, carbon fiber composites, or aramid fibers," said Scott Savian, marketing, C&D Aerospace. "Spectra has already proven itself in bulletproof vests, tanks, and combat helicopters."
