GENERAL POLYMERS DIVISION OF ASHLAND DISTRIBUTION COMPANY OPENS PLASTICS DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN SOUTHEAST U.S. REGION.

Ashland Distribution Company's General Polymers Division (Dublin, Ohio) has commenced operations at a new $7 million, 125,000-square-foot regional distribution center in Anderson, S.C. The facility will receive bulk thermoplastic materials -- primarily by rail -- and will package and distribute plastic resin pellets to General Polymers (GP) customers throughout the Southeast region.
Ashland acquired the 43-acre site and developed the new facility to enhance its inventory management and customer service capabilities for plastics customers, as well as provide an infrastructure for the potential expansion needs of its other distribution businesses.
