BOEING NEW JETS NOT A PLAN TO REPLACE 757, 767 JETS; MARKET RECOVERY LIKELY FOR 2004.

Boeing's commercial jet leader, Alan Mulally said in Paris on May 13 that the company has no plan to replace its mid-sized 757 and 767 jets in response to flagging sales, as was reported in some press articles recently. Boeing has only received eight orders for 757s in the last 15 months.
Several industry sources recently have said that Boeing is now preparing its first all-new program in a decade, with a more efficient replacement of the 757 the most likely outcome. "Right now we don't know of any plane we could make that's more efficient than the 757," said Mulally.
