August 20, 2002 - Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc., (Nasdaq: QTWW) of Irvine, California, announced that it has supplied a hydrogen fuel storage and delivery system for General Motors' revolutionary Hy-wire, the world's first drivable fuel cell and by-wire vehicle. [See CeN #35 from last week] GM released first pictures of the drivable concept vehicle on August 14, 2002, and it will be introduced to the public at the Paris Auto Show September 26, 2002.
The Hy-wire is General Motors' major step forward in their efforts to reinvent the automobile. "GM certainly overcame several challenges to show this vehicle only eight months after the initial concept, the AUTOnomy vehicle, was introduced at the North American Auto Show in January 2002,"...
