COMPOSITES R&D FOR SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE - DIAPHORM AWARDED $3M U.S. ARMY RESEARCH LAB CONTRACT.

The Diaphorm Division of Solectria Corporation in Woburn, Massachusetts has been awarded a 5-year, $3 million Cooperative Agreement by the U.S. Army Research Laboratory. The purpose of this program is to investigate the use of proprietary Diaphorm(TM) composite preforming technology in developing "lightweight, lower cost, environmentally friendly, and more reliable composite materials" for a variety of military applications.
The stated goals of this program include proof-of-concept of prototype systems, extensive testing and property testing of composite laminates made using the Diaphorm technology, incorporating these parts into a demonstrator military component, and investigating the feasibility of production scale-up.
