Aldila Sells its JV Share of Carbon Fiber Technology to SGL Carbon.

June 24, 2003 - Aldila Inc, of Poway, California is well known for its being a manufacturer of carbon fiber and epoxy composite golf club shafts. The company has signed a letter agreement to sell its half interest in commercial-tow carbon fiber producer Carbon Fiber Technology LLC to its joint venture partner SGL Carbon's Fibers and Composites unit.
Aldila has signed a non-binding letter of intent which proposes that Aldila will transfer its equity interest in CFT to SGL in stages, by the first quarter of 2006. The transaction is subject to satisfaction of certain conditions, including negotiation of definitive agreements satisfactory to both parties. Aldila and SGL will also enter into a long-term supply agreement to provide Aldila's Poway prepreg plant...
