Near Record Installations in US of Wind Turbines in 2003; Lack of PTC Reduces 2004 Estimates.
Advanced Materials & Composites News, January, 2004
January 19, 2004 - According to the American Wind Energy Association report on January 22, nearly 1,700 MW of new wind electric generating capacity, "enough to serve approximately 425,000 average homes", were installed in the U.S. in 2003. That represents about 8500 MT (almost 19 million lbs) of GFRP composites consumed in one year for this one market sector.
