Interim 1-Year Wind Energy PTC Extension Added to U.S. Senate Bill.

March 8, 2004 - The Production Tax Credit (PTC) to support wind energy through wind farms and wind turbine investments would be extended for one year (through December 31, 2004) as part of a package of expired tax credits being added to the foreign tax bill (also referred to as the corporate tax reform bill - S.1637) expected to pass the Senate in late March.
This legislative effort to provide a stop-gap solution for the industry is expected pass in the Senate and over the next two months move to the House of Representatives to act on a similar bill (H.R.2896), according to AWEA legislative director Jaime Steve.
