John Powers was named chief executive officer of Stanford Management Co., which manages the $15 billion endowment of Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif., effective June 26, Mr. Powers said in an interview. He succeeds Michael McCaffery, who is leaving to form his own investment company. Mr.
Powers is managing director and director of research at Offit Hall Capital Management. Kathryn Hall, co-chairman, co-CEO and co-CIO at Offit Hall, will also become director of research, Mr. Powers said. Mr. McCaffery, who joined Stanford Management in 2000, did not return a call seeking comment.
