Byline: Beatrix Payne The humble British postage stamp could end up saving lives in some of the world's most dangerous places. PIMCO Chief Investment Officer Bill Gross will auction the Great Britain portion of his stamp collection on June 11 to raise up to $5 million for the charity Doctors Without Borders.

The collection includes a number of "Penny Black'' and "Two Penny Blue'' stamps, the world's first adhesive postage stamps, issued in 1840, according to Charles Shreve, president of Shreves Philatelic Galleries Inc., New York, which will conduct the auction in New York. The charity's current campaigns include a program of mass vaccinations against meningitis in central Africa, treating victims of the armed conflict in Sri Lanka and lobbying drug...
