Byline: Raquel Pichardo The postman will have to ring twice at CalPERS once a new ZIP code proposed for downtown Sacramento, Calif., goes into effect. The dividing line for the new code is Q Street, which happens to cut through CalPERS' grounds. The $247.1 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System has one building on Q Street - ZIP code 95814 - and two on P Street - soon to be ZIP code 95811.

Staff members at the fund have been working with the U.S. Postal Service to get an exemption from the new ZIP code to no avail, said fund spokesman Brad Pacheco. "We have a tunnel that connects our buildings and we tried to use the tunnel as an exemption, but that didn't work.''
