COUNTRYSIDE: In response to the letter from Bill Hall"Homeopathy--help or hoax?" (March/April 2006), I went to a doctor (a specialist in gastroenterology) for Crohn's disease. He prescribed a drug which was approved by the Federal Drug Administration. After taking it for a few months it started making me sick, so I stopped taking the drug.

A couple of years later, it was jerked from the market because it causes arrhythmia of the heart--which I now have. I went to a heart specialist for this problem and he prescribed another drug. This time I researched the drug and found it keeps you going for about 10 years. However after taking this drug for about 10 years it may slow the muscles (including the heart) to the point where they have completely deteriorated. I...
