Byline: Daisy Whitney Cable operators are aggressively targeting the retail customers for the first time, boldly stepping onto ground that has been owned by their satellite competitors for nearly a decade. Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable and leading high-definition programmers such as Discovery and ESPN this holiday season are capitalizing on the chance to drive additional revenue by pitching HD on the retail floor.
